Life... no longer holds any surprises for me.
I ranted about this on the BBC Youtube page. I can't get the BBC here. I haven't seen any of the last series, yet people have felt the need to summarise major plot points all over the shop.

Sorry, wasn't thinking straight, should have given some prior warning

When I was still without net here in Athlone I went to Chatbusters for teh intarwab, while shopping at the local Tesco. Found their software horrid and couldn't concentrate for the threatening gangsta types swaggering menacingly up and down the line of computers in the shop.

The local Net Cafe was nicer, cheaper and generally just used windows so I could run portableapps.com (a suite of software that is a boon for folks who need to use public 'puters).

Re: Chartbusters
It's the same down here, I am not too gone on the sound system in it. The earphones that you get are either broken or don't emit any audio but re. the net cafe, it's poison dear here, I have tried.

Re: Chartbusters
Why are they always such vile places? I'm not sure I've ever been in a "proper" net cafe. Usually the "cafe" side of it is a vending machine or some bored woman at a counter. Then you have the likes of the EasyInternet outlets in england where they are full of seedy old men looking at porn or the local homeless who take it in turns to buy machine credit so they can have an exuse to stay there.

This is yet another one of those things they seem to do so much better on the continent. I remember a cafe/bar in Turku, Finland we used to go to. Was just like a standard cafe/bar with computers upstairs and free wireless everywhere. Not to mention a huge library of comics on shelves near the bar...

Why can't we have this sort of thing in Ireland or the UK?
