End of an Era

Ok, this may seem a little stupid. But I am sad...sad about a wall.
Not just any wall, but the one in front of the college front gate. I thought it was protected(the college is open since the 1700s after all), but it's not. And instead they are putting up railings to give the college a veneer of modernity. It's sad for me and make me realise that in a couple of months, the last of the old crew are going to be gone, the ones who remember when the place was actually amiable and fun to be in and the Arts centre was just a fantasy in someones head. I'm all for change, but for me that wall made the place more homely somehow. The most attractive thing for me was the cherry blossoms which would appear close to summer as the tree just hung over the wall and would start to molt the petals from the tree.

I would be just as pissed. I get really weird about these kinds of things...

It's just, old things that give us moments of beauty in a drab world should be protected.
It is kind of annoying, I mean, the same type of a wall is in front of the college at home in Galway and it's kept
Why not here then
